Foo Fighters pull all live dates due to injury

The Foo Fighters have cancelled the remainder of their tour.
The rock band had several more dates across the UK and Europe scheduled, including a headlining gig at the world-famous Glastonbury Festival.
However, after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg on stage during a performance in Sweden last week, the band have been forced to pull out of upcoming gigs.
‘Due to injuries sustained in Dave Grohl’s fall from the stage during Foo Fighters’ June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, doctors have required the cancellation of the remainder of the band’s dates in the UK and Europe,’ a statement on the band’s website read.
“After undergoing surgery Monday, Dave’s full recuperation time is still to be determined.’
Dave also penned a post himself to apologise to fans for the cancellation.
‘My doctors have advised me to lay low for a while,’ he explained. ‘The most important thing now is for me to recover from the surgery, to keep my leg elevated so as to keep swelling down and prevent any infection/complication that could do long term damage. I’m not out of the woods yet, folks.
‘Which means, and it kills me to say it…the doctors have told us to cancel shows. I’m really so sorry, guys. You know I hate to do it, but I’m afraid it’s just not physically possible for me at the moment.’
It was while Dave, 46, was performing with the band at the Ullevi stadium last Friday night that his injury occurred.
While playing their second song of the night, Dave suffered a fall after attempting to jump on a ramp, only to accidentally find himself in the security run area between the stage and the audience.
“I think I just broke my leg,” he told the crowd. “I think I really broke my leg.”
“Right now, I’m gonna go to the hospital and fix my leg and then we’re gonna come back and play for you again.’
A further announcement will be made on Friday to advise ticket purchasers of the process for refunding of tickets and to report any other available information.
Tickets purchasers will be contacted directly where possible and information will also be released on all available channels.
Please await that release as the point of purchase will have no further information at this time.
In addition to the Wembley Stadium shows the following Foo Fighters dates and appearances have also been cancelled:
June 23 – Edinburgh, UK – BT Murrayfield Stadium
June 25 – Werchter, Belgium – Festivalpark Werchter
June 26 – Glastonbury Festival 2015
