Who are some of your musical influences?
I have a wide variety of musical influences because I was raised on so many different genres of music; from classic rock to soul to latin. You name it, I listened to it. Some of my most prominent influences are Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Joss Stone, Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, and Julia Michaels.
If you could collaborate with any artist who would you choose?
It’s so hard to choose just one, but my top 3 would be Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, or Bruno Mars.
“Deep End” what’s the song really mean to you?
For me, I wrote this song a few months after a breakup. When your heart is broken, at the moment, you feel like it’s the end of the world and you can actually PHYSICALLY feel the pain in your chest, at least I could. But after about three months, I looked back on the relationship and just thought to myself ‘Wow. After all of that I’m actually going to be okay’. Universally though, I think that “Deep End” is about coming out of the deep end, whatever hard ship that may be, stronger than before and overcoming your battles. The deep end can be anything from loss of love to failure. We’ve all been there before, but how we rise out of those moments is what defines us as human beings.
What do you hope people take from your music when listening?
When I write, I write based off my personal experiences, but when I release the project, I’m giving that music to the people, so that they can listen to it and interpret it how they want to based on their personal stories and experiences. All I want is to be able to connect with people in a way that we can all know we’ve all gone through the same stuff. The same highs and the same lows.
Any new music updates you like to share?
My self titled, debut EP project will be released end of September. You can subscribe to my mailing list and follow my social media for all of the details!
Tell us your favorite fan encounter?
I honestly have soo many, it’s hard picking just one. The most touching fan encounters that I’ve had are when fans reach out to me over social media and share how they connect with my music and their personal stories. Knowing that you can connect with someone so easily is truly amazing and heart warming. And my rule is that I always respond, it may take a little bit, but if someone’s opening up about telling me exactly how they relate to my music, I’m going to respond because I can’t believe that there are people out there supporting and listening to my music.
