Stereobuzz Spotlight on: Exclusive Interview with Lauren Ashlaie

What inspired your passion for music?

My passion for music started when I was very young. I was a dancer and competitive figure skater so I have always loved listening to music and singing along. In Middle School, Istarted to discover my love for contemporary music and noticed how free it made me feel. I felt like I could express myself whenever I sang. That’s when I realized my passion for creating and performing music.

What are your goals for 2019?

Aside from a successful Junior year at college, mmain music goal for 2019 is to find new ways to bring my fans into my life, other than through Facebook Twitter and Instagram. I am exploring the idea of starting a VLOG on YouTube to show everyone what it is like to try and balance being a fulltime college student, song writer and performer.

How do you feel about connecting with your fans via social media?

Connecting with my fans on social media is one of my favorite things. I love showing people who I am outside of the studio and getting to know them through comments or even meeting them at gigs. Reading every ones comments about my music or even just one of my pictures makes me smile and think about how truly lucky I am to have such a supportive fan base following me through my journey.

What’s your favorite quote?

My favorite quote is a song lyric by ABBA

Without a song or a dance what are we?  So I say thank you for the music For giving it to me.

How do you feel about the early success with the track Breathe?

I am SO happy that my song has been getting such great feedback. I wrote “Breathe” hoping to help people know that they are not alone through dark times. The feeling of being completely overwhelmed is something that happens to many of us at some point in our life. Through just daily conversations at school, I’m finding it happens a lot to college students.  I have gotten messages of support andeven people telling me their story of how they got through their darkness and found their light. It is inspiring and uplifting to know my music touches people in such a personal way.
